Description
I’ve been obsessed with the idea of the crocus flower lately. They grow in places with long, cold, winter seasons. They NEED the cold in order to bloom in the spring. And when they do they are resilient, hardy, and beautiful.
This is such a beautiful metaphor for the beauty that arises from hardship, discomfort, and pain. We all face these things at one time or another, but we can’t let those hurts go unaddressed and freeze over areas of our hearts. When we ignore our pain it turns to bitterness, insecurity, and anger. But if we look for healing, lean into our pain, the ice melts, and flowers begin to bloom from those frozen places. Not just any flowers rise from cold ground, but hardy, resilient, beautiful crocus flowers. Our wounds and struggles can turn into compassion, humility, patience, and kindness in our hearts if we let it.
